| Switzerlands wineries are building or property
that produces Swiss wine, or a business involved in the production of
Switzerlands great wine, such as a Wallis wine company. Some Swiss wine
companies own many wineries throughout the swiss alpine region. Besides
wine making equipment, larger swiss wineries may also feature warehouses,
bottling lines, laboratories, and large expanses of tanks known as tank
farms.
Swiss wineries typically employ expert winemakers to produce various swiss
wines from grapes by following the winemaking process. This process involves
the fermentation of fruit, as well as blending and aging of the juice.
The white wine grapes may be from vineyards owned by the winery or may
be bought in from other locations in Switzerland. Many Swiss wineries
also give tours and have cellar doors or tasting rooms, for degustation
where customers can taste the popular swiss wines before they make a purchase.

| Swiss wineries may produce distinctive and
very high quality wines. There are highly competitive contests by
which local swiss wineries can establish prestige by winning in
their categories. Switzerlands wineries are a form of value added
marketing, also known as agritourism, for vintners who may otherwise
be struggling to show a profit.
